As the baby chicks start their 5th week of life.......
These photos were taken on May 12th & 13th, four weeks after coming to us.

Moving to the Big House!
We've been working tirelessly on the chicken coop trying to finish the interior enough so that the chicks could move in by the time they were 4 weeks old. We missed the mark by a few days, but we were finally able to move them in on Tuesday afternoon at 4 1/2 weeks old.
~A Dominique....very curious~
I'll share pictures tomorrow of the actual coop and where we are on the construction progress, although you get a little preview of some of the details in the pictures of the chicks.
All of the chicks were very curious about their new surroundings. Some were a little hesitant about exploring the new, larger space and wanted to stay huddled together.
~Golden Laced Wyandotte, Dominique, & Phoenix~
There was so much more space for them to spread out. This was also the first time that all 26 chicks had been together since they were 1 week old, when they were divided into 2 brooders.

~A Dominique checking out the new large feeder~
Everyone seems to be adjusting to the new feeder. I put their water founts from the brooders in the coop even though I have the poultry nipple bucket. They didn't seem too interested in the nipples since they were in completely new surroundings. I'll take the water founts out in a few days and see what they do with the bucket/nipple system.

Tomorrow I'll post pictures of the coop construction progress. The interior is almost finished, but there's still quite a bit to do on the outside. It's turning out to be really cute though!
***For anyone local~~~ I'll be selling about a dozen of these chicks....Golden Laced Wyandotte, Dominique & Golden Campine....only a few of each. If you are interested, you can email me {here}
